For Public Health – Seattle & King County, Betty Hageman collaborated and consulted on content, style, copy, images and layout for a display to be posted in regional health clinics. The clinics’ intake screening process will soon automatically include questions about food insecurity and the patients’ food needs and financial challenges. We wanted a poster to introduce and normalize the subject in the waiting room. In order for patients to be connected with the personalized free and low-cost food resources they need for healthy nutrition, they would need to feel comfortable being candid with the clinic staff about their personal situations and family needs. Betty designed this poster to inspire confidence and trust in the process. It is also produced and distributed in Vietnamese, Spanish, Chinese and Somali translations.
